Faith Crisis

Requests for spiritual strength during doubt, religious confusion, or waning devotion

Patient God, Keeper of Wandering Hearts and Light in Our Shadows,
When faith feels like shifting sand, we grasp for You—
not because certainty returns, but because Your grip never loosens.

We thank You for holy questions.
When doctrines clash and old answers crumble,
You whisper: "Test me; search for Me with all your heart."
For meeting us in our doubting, we praise You.

We thank You for wilderness companions.
For friends who sit with us in silent uncertainty,
For ancient prayers that feel raw and new,
For flickering faith that still whispers "Lord."
"In all things, give thanks."

Anchor us in sacred mystery.
When fear demands tidy answers,
Remind us: "Now we see dimly, but then face to face,"
And let holy tension birth deeper trust.

Turn our doubts into altars.
Let every "why?" become a bridge to Your heart,
Every sleepless night a wrestling match with angels,
Until our scars sing: "Though He slay me, yet I hope."

Rekindle what religion numbed.
Where dogma once imprisoned, set our souls dancing;
Where empty rituals drained joy, pour living water;
Where faith grew cold, breathe Pentecost fire anew.

Jesus, who asked "Do you want to get well?" in Bethesda's shadows,
Meet us in our sacred struggle.
May we cry with the father: "I believe; help my unbelief!"

In Your patient name, we pray. Amen.
