Prayers for safety during extreme weather (wildfires, hurricanes) or environmental hazards like pollution.
Creator God, Sovereign of Seasons and Tamer of Tempests,
As skies rage with fire and seas rise in fury, we cling to You—
not because the storm stills, but because Your command rules the chaos.
We thank You for guardians of the earth.
For firefighters facing infernos with holy courage,
For meteorologists deciphering Your atmospheric psalms,
For neighbors sharing shelter when sirens wail.
"The floods have lifted up their voice; the Lord on high is mightier."
Rebuke destruction’s advance.
Where hurricanes spin toward vulnerable shores, decree: "Peace, be still!";
Where toxic clouds choke cities, breathe Your purifying wind;
Where drought cracks the earth, let Your living water erupt.
Consecrate our stewardship.
Turn recycling bins into altars of responsibility,
Climate policies into blueprints of sacred care,
And every solar panel into a hymn to Your sustaining light.
"The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it."
Bind wounds of the land.
Where oil smothers ocean life, pour healing balm;
Where forests lie ashen, resurrect resilient growth;
Where coral reefs fade, paint new rainbows in the deep.
"I will restore the years the locusts have eaten."
Forge communities of resilient hope.
When evacuation routes become pilgrim paths,
Let shared bread in shelters taste of heavenly manna;
When rebuilding begins, may hammer strikes echo: "Behold, I make all things new!"
Prince of Peace, who walked on raging waves,
Anchor us in Your creation-renewing promise.
May we labor and pray until all creation sings: "He has done all things well!"
In Your sustaining name, we pray. Amen.
